• Severe Weather Footprint: A “Slight Risk” of severe weather (large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes) is active for a corridor from Illinois through Upstate New York. Heavy rain and flash flooding are possible for cities including Chicago, Cleveland, and Buffalo.

• Social Security Phone-Only Service: The Social Security field office in McKeesport, PA (15132) is restricted to telephone assistance only today, March 31. No in-person services are available. Additionally, the Bloomsburg, PA (17815) office remains phone-only until further notice.

• Oregon Paving Closure: The South Slough Visitor’s Center and trails in Charleston, OR, are CLOSED today for paving operations. Limited access is expected to resume tomorrow.

• NYC Airport Mail Incident: An unexpected incident at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in East Elmhurst, NY, is causing localized processing and transportation backlogs for mail and packages in the Queens/NYC area.

• International Mail Suspension: USPS has issued a temporary suspension of international mail acceptance for over 20 countries (including Russia, Belarus, and Israel) due to inadequate transportation options.
