School Bus Cancellations Today (February 17, 2026)

For Tuesday, February 17, 2026, school bus cancellations are significantly lower than the major storm events seen earlier in the year. 🇨🇦 Canada: Regional Cancellations

Across much of Canada, students are returning from the Family Day long weekend, but several regions have scheduled non-instructional days for today.

Ontario

• Wellington-Dufferin (STWDSTS): All transportation services have resumed as of today, Feb 17, following the holiday weekend.

• Renfrew County (RCJTC): Long-term route cancellations are in effect for Route 129R (affecting Renfrew Collegiate and St. Joseph’s Catholic High School). Temporary re-assignments for affected families began today, Feb 17.

In the U.S., most schools are resuming classes today after Presidents’ Day, though some districts are utilizing today for staff training.

• Greeneville City Schools: No students today. It is a scheduled Professional Learning Day.

• Williamson County Schools: Schools are Open, but Middle and High Schools were on a late start schedule.

• Kingsport City Schools: Schools are Open; normal transportation is in effect.

Maryland & Virginia

• Montgomery County (MCPS), MD: No school for students or teachers today. It is a designated Non-Instructional Day.

• Halifax County, VA: Schools are Open. Note that previous early-release dates (March/April) have been changed to full days, but today remains a standard schedule.

• Tazewell County, VA: Schools are Open (marking the end of the 4th six-week grading period).

Midwest (Illinois)

• Sterling Public Schools: Schools are Open, though the Education Committee meeting originally scheduled for today has been cancelled.
