New York City (NYC DOE): Today is the final push for families with children born in 2021! While the initial Kindergarten deadline for Fall 2026 was in late January, the Pre-K application window is currently open. Families are encouraged to submit their choices via MySchools by late February/early March to ensure priority placement.

Los Angeles Unified (LAUSD): The Late Choices application window for the 2026-2027 school year is currently open (it began February 2). If you missed the November “On-Time” deadline, apply now to be added to the end of the waitlists for Magnet and Dual Language programs.

Midland Public Schools: Today is a critical day for incoming Kindergarten families—the district-wide Pre-Primary Center meeting for Developmental Kindergarten (DK) is scheduled for tomorrow, February 26.
