Nova Southeastern University suspended all classes and activities at its Jacksonville Campus Wednesday, July 7. The campus is anticipated to resume normal operations Thursday, July 8. Students, faculty, and staff at this campus location should be finalizing their storm preparations at this time and check nova.edu/hurricane and their email/phone for any updates.
- All Duval County Public Schools student-related summer programs are canceled for July 7, 2021. This includes Summer Rise, summer school, all summer camps, and all other extracurricular activities.
- Jacksonville University transitioned to remote learning on Wednesday, July 7. The JU Orthodontics clinic and the Healthcare Simulation Center (located on Beach Boulevard) will both close for the day, and there are no day camp sessions scheduled for Wednesday. Campus dining facilities will remain open for the limited number of students, overnight campers and support staff currently on campus. Jacksonville University’s Emergency Preparedness Team will continue to closely monitor Tropical Storm Elsa and will communicate important updates to our campus via email, text alerts and through the JU Mobile Safety app. JU expects to resume normal operations on Thursday, July 8.
- All Clay County Schools summer programs including meal services and extracurricular activities will be CANCELED tomorrow, July 7th, due to inclement weather expected from Elsa. All schools and district offices will be closed and are set to reopen on Thursday, July 8.
- Nassau County Schools summer programs are canceled for July 7, 2021 in anticipation of the impact of Tropical Storm Elsa. This includes Minds on a Mission, ESY, VPK, STARRS Summer Camp, and all other extracurricular activities. Twelve-month employees should report to work as normal or take leave according to district procedures.
Due to Tropical Storm Elsa, all summer school activities, student athletic activities, and summer feeding services are cancelled for Wednesday, July 7th.
All activities will resume Thursday, July 8th, as scheduled.
Due to the threat of inclement weather from Tropical Storm Elsa, all Ware County Schools offices and campuses will be closed Wednesday, July 7, 2021. All athletic events and practices scheduled for Wednesday have also been cancelled.
All local government offices in Camden County, including the Board of Commissioners and the Cities of Kingsland, St. Marys, and Woodbine, closed at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7. Offices are anticipated to open with regular business hours on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
