When winter weather hits, 10TV provides several ways to access the most current list of closures and delays:

1. The 10TV Closings Dashboard

The most reliable source is the 10TV Closings and Delays page. This list is alphabetized and searchable by county, covering everything from public K-12 schools to private academies and local businesses.

2. Mobile & Text Alerts

The 10TV App: Download the WBNS app on iOS or Android and enable Weather Notifications.
Text Alerts: You can text APP to (614) 460-3345 to receive a direct link to the latest news and weather updates.

3. On-Air Coverage

During 10TV News This Morning (starting at 4:30 AM), the “Closing Ticker” runs continuously at the bottom of your screen. Look for the scrolling text to see if your district is listed under “Closed,” “2-Hour Delay,” or “Remote Learning.”

Understanding the “Weather Impact Alert”

10TV meteorologists have issued Weather Impact Alert Days for the remainder of the week. This is what parents need to know:

Condition	Potential Impact
Wind Chills (-5 to -15)	Often triggers 2-hour delays to avoid children standing at bus stops during the coldest hours.
Snow Emergency Levels	Level 2 or 3 emergencies in counties like Marion or Coshocton will almost always result in full school closures.
Ice/Freezing Rain	May cause “No PM Activities” alerts even if school starts on time, as road conditions can deteriorate by dismissal.

Pro-Tip: Many Columbus-area superintendents aim to make the call by 5:45 AM. If you don’t see your school on the list by then, it is best to prepare for a normal start time, but keep the 10TV app open for last-minute changes.
