Scarborough High School was closed Tuesday due to what police called a “serious threat of safety.” School officials called it a precaution, but said all after school activities were also canceled.
Scarborough Police told WMTW that the threat was received Monday night and was isolated to the high school. All other schools remained open on Tuesday.
Police could not provide details as to the nature of the threat. The school superintendent said the threat was received via text message and was reported by a student. Police continued to investigate the threat on Tuesday.
